Nature has an abundance of sensory delights to offer, and fall is one of our favorite times to be outside here at HH! Join us for this guided walk through the park, where we’ll slow down, tune in, and connect with our senses. This meetup is designed for neurodivergent community members to explore their sensory experiences through gentle experimentation, playful engagement, and mindful self-observation in a natural setting. We’ll move at a leisurely, comfortable pace with plenty of space for curiosity, grounding, and connection. Tiny treasure-hunting in the form of natural objects is highly encouraged 😊
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- this event will take place out in the community to take advantage of the fall weather! please dress accordingly, and perhaps opt for layers if you’re someone who gets warm while you are walking 🩷
- if you are not familiar with Warwick City Park, and wondering about parking - there is private lot immediately visible to the left when you enter the park, with plenty of spots and we’ll meet there.
- the path we’ll be following is low-impact and easy to navigate (paved, no steep hills), but comfortable footwear is advised. Path is wheelchair & stroller-accessible.
- the loop we’ll be doing is 2.8 miles and takes about 55-60min to complete walking at a leisurely pace. We plan to meander a bit, stop and check things out, so we’re planning for somewhere between 1hr - 1.5hrs total time allotment.
- leashed dogs are allowed on this path, just as a heads up.
- fidgets and/or comfort items, or any other supports are very much welcome.
- snacks and drinks are both completely fine to bring if desired/you don’t mind carrying them!
- please refrain from wearing fragrances for the comfort of all attending.
